New art exhibition 100 BLACK WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE A MARK opens at Leicester Gallery and runs till January 4th 2025.  Presented by Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage and curated by the organisation’s CEO, Pawlet Brookes MBE, the exhibition features a ground-breaking collection of paintings, sculptures, 3D images and portraits of 100 significant Black British and Irish women – past and present - who have made their mark in politics, arts, science, education, sport, activism, media, technology, theatre, broadcasting, and more. The artworks have been produced by five Black female artists: Valerie Asiimwe Amani, Yvadney Davis, Gayle Ebose, Grace Lee, Lauryn Pinard. Picture shows: Alison Buchanan, soprano & Artistic Director of Pegasus Opera) opening the evening with operatic excerpts, accompanied on piano by Philip Herbert.
