English Touring Opera presents the first UK production of the 1744 version of Dardanus, at the Hackney Empire, before touring to Oxford, Buxton, Saffron Walden, Snape and Exeter. This production is directed by Douglas Rintoul, conducted by Jonathan Williams, with design by Cordelia Chisholm and lighting design by Mark Howland. The cast is: Anthony Gregory (Dardanus), Galina Averina (Iphise), Grant Doyle (Teucer), Timothy Nelson (Antenor), Frederick Long (Ismenor), Alessandro Fisher (Arcas), Katy Thomson (Phrygian Woman), Eleanor Penfold (Venus), Mikel Uskola (countertenor chorus), Edward Jowle (baritone chorus).
